Scene News: Tony Joe White at Ding Dong Lounge

With over 50 years of singing and song writing under his belt, the amazing Tony Joe White will be joining us at Ding Dong Lounge for a dinner and show event of a life time. A Louisiana native, a celebrated country-blues performer, and the King of Swamp Rock, Tony Joe White is a bona fide legend.

Tony Joe White was literally born for the blues. The part-Cherokee musician was brought up as part of a big brood on a cotton farm in Louisiana, surrounded by the sounds of Lightnin’ Hopkins and local bluesmen – an upbringing reflected in his evocative, haunting music.

To ensure that patrons have only the most authentic experience, Girl With The Gris Gris Head Chef Chris Weysham, also a Louisiana native, has created three incredible courses of Louisiana favourites, unique to this dinner and show event. We’re going all out to bring you only the best Cajun/Creole dishes with some fantastic cocktails, wine and New Orleans beers to match.

Make sure you arrive early to begin the evening in true Southern style for our cocktail hour, including a complimentary New Orleans ‘Hurricane’ to get you started! Our charming hostesses will make you feel right at home so all you have to do is sit back and watch the magical evening unfold.

Whether you’ve been with White for the duration of his career or are a newcomer to his incredible music, this show will please everyone. So come along and join the festivities as you drink, dance and dine with the inimitable Tony Joe White, supported by very special guest Henry Wagons, frontman of the Americana-flavoured Wagons.
