Once again, here to shed light Collingwood’s Koorie people of the incredible history of Fitzroy and comes to Leaps and Bounds Music Festival favourite Smith Street Dreaming for its fifth celebration of indigenous pride, awareness, and community. Taking place on Saturday 22 July, the annual event will play host to some of Australia’s best indigenous talent featuring live sets from Frank Yamma, Emma Donovan, Yung Warriors, hip hop dance group Indigenous Hip Hop Projects, Jindi Worabak traditional dancers, and MC Shelley Ware (Marngrook Footy Show).

A free event for people of all ages, Smith Street Dreaming is a project initiated to bring understanding, respect, and peace, and to foster the relationship between all Smith Street residents, commuters, workers, and visitors. Developed by the Smith Street Working Group that includes Aboriginal Elders, community members, justice and outreach workers, the Parkies, the Neighbourhood Justice Centre, Victoria Police, City of Yarra, Co Health, MAYSAR and Mission Australia’s Charcoal Lane, Smith Street Dreaming is the biggest street celebration of long-standing indigenous history on the calendar, bringing together many mobs on the corner of Stanley & Smith Street, Collingwood.
