Your Guide to Super Saturday

Super Saturday ~ a day featuring 65+ venues, 220+ acts, 50+ curators, 50+ record labels at the Independent Music Exchange, 20+ Vendors at the 1800 Street Party food-bev-market-dog-music festival in the Croxton Carpark, 1 Dog Show, Parade and Costume Contest, 3 suburbs, 1 tramline, 1 street – all free (with a Super Saturday ticket).

The Eighty-Six has been designed as a music lovers paradise dedicated to supporting Melbourne’s independent music and small venue culture. Please respect and support all the staff, venues, artists, fans and service providers who are working hard to deliver a day and night of musical memories.

Each venue has its own capacity that has been put in place to ensure a safe and fun event. You may not be able to get into the show you hoped – and if so, lean into Super Saturday, and let it take you on an adventure. Follow the route of the 86 tram (and surrounds) and who knows where you’ll end up…

Tickets: we have released the final allocation of Super Saturday tickets here and fulfilled those who joined the waitlist. There will be no more tickets released. If you want to try and trade tickets, you can try the Super Saturday Facebook Event.

Road Closures and Traffic: There will be no road closures for Super Saturday. The 1800 Street Party will be held in the Croxton Carpark (580 High Street Thornbury). There will be an increased amount of people in the area throughout the day, please be aware, patient and kind to those around you and be mindful of traffic in and around the venues.

Super Saturday HQ: The Eighty-Six will set up a temporary Super Saturday HQ inside the upcoming Cinque! Cinque! Cinque! sandwich shop located at 555 High Street Northcote. This will be open between 9 am to 1 am to provide any necessary medical or other assistance to those who may require it.

Independent Music Exchange
10am-5pm Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 October at Masaya Reception

A two-day, free, all-ages event that welcomes Australia’s diverse independent record labels to connect directly with the fans and followers that keep them inspired and afloat. With over 50 labels setting up shop at Thornbury’s Masaya Reception over Saturday 28, and Sunday 29 October, the Independent Music Exchange will spotlight the imprints of all sizes that remain loyal to physical product in the digital world, from homespun hobby projects to globally established stables.

Be sure to bring an empty tote bag for an unmissable opportunity to pick up vinyl, cassettes, merch, zines, test pressings, posters, warehouse finds, artist-signed items and other limited editions directly from these friendly operators. More info: here

Howl-O-Ween Dog Show, Parade and Costume Contest

10am–12noon at 1800 Street Party – 580 High Street Thornbury

PSA: Dogs do not need to dress up unless they enter the Spookiest Costume Prize.

Within the 1800 Street Party, Scratch presents the Howl-O-Ween Dog Show, Parade & Costume Contest. Hosted by Myf Warhurst, Howl-O-Ween is raising money and awareness for Pets Of The Homeless. We welcome dogs of all shapes, sizes, ages and breeds to register here to compete in the following categories:

  • Spookiest Costume Prize (best and most creative costume)

  • Dog/Owner Likeness Prize (dogs that look most like their owner)

  • Naughtiest Doggo Prize (tell us your naughtiest dog tail)

  • Best Trick Prize (BYO trick and we will ask you to perform on stage)

  • Scratch’s Dog Treat Prize (tell us your goodest dog tail)

Dogs do not need to dress up unless entering the Spookiest Costume Prize.

  • Sign up for a limited, last-release, free digital ticket to attend the Super Saturday parties and events (including the Independent Music Exchange and 1800 Street Party) here.

  • The ticket will be sent via email, can be printed out if preferred/required and will scan attendees into Super Saturday’s free events.

  • There will be no more tickets released.

  • If you want to try and trade tickets, you can try the Super Saturday Facebook Event.

  • Entry to all Super Saturday events is limited based on each venue’s capacity – entry will be on a first-in, first-served basis. Please be aware there are no pass-outs – once you leave, you must queue to re-enter if the venue is at capacity.
