Australia’s funk, soul and disco queen Kylie Auldist will be playing some special mid-Winter shows in Victoria at the Caravan Music Club on Friday 25 August and the Spotted Mallard on Friday 22 September.
Splitting each show into two sets, she’ll begin with an acoustic-soul style nod to her earlier albums co-produced by Lance Ferguson and recorded with members of The Bamboos. Watch her then raise the roof for the second half of the show with an up-tempo electro-soul set including tracks from here newest album Family Tree plus dance hits ‘This Girl’ and ‘Ride of Your Life’.
Kylie Auldist is the soulful voice behind the massive 250 million + views 2016 summer hit This Girl by Kungs vs Cookin’ on 3 Burners and earlier this year she dropped the new single Ride of Your Life, a collaboration with Boy George’s long-time UK based producer Marc Vedo out via Sony Music’s Ultra label. The track was an instant pool party playlist winner, and has clocked over 5 and a half million views online including support from PETA International for its nod to animal rights.
Already praised by the world’s soul and R&B community as an extraordinary talent, Kylie shot to stratospheric prominence when her sublime vocals on the ‘This Girl’ remix which went to number one on the charts in France, Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Latvia and Scotland and number two on the UK singles chart. Her fourth album Family Tree took out the 2016 award for Best Album in the funk/soul category at The Age Music Victoria Awards. She possesses a voice that can run the gamut from soaring vocal pyrotechnics to heart-wrenching tenderness. Her down to earth, warm but no BS personality permeates Family Tree in the same way as it does her electrifying live shows, with their huge dose of boogie power. You are invited to the party but you had better be able to keep up!
