As the legendary band conclude their stellar live career in this country, KISS will leave an enduring legacy for both their legion of fans and now also for our military veterans and their families by launching the SUPPORT OUR VETERANS APPEAL, raising important charitable donations and public awareness to support the health and well-being of our returning soldiers, sailors and aviators. The money raised from SUPPORT OUR VETERANS will go to Legacy an iconic Australian charity that has been supporting the families of veterans for 100 years and Wounded Heroes Australia, a national defence community organisation that provides 24/7 emergency crisis support to Australian Defence Force, Veterans and their families in immediate financial crisis, homeless or at risk of homelessness around Australia, in the prevention of the heartbreakingly high rates of veteran suicide. Legacy and Wounded Heroes Australia have been carefully selected due their strong track record of providing short, medium and long-term assistance to our returning military personnel. For every concert ticket sold from Tuesday 5 September 2023, $10 will be donated to Legacy and Wounded Heroes. Legacy and Wounded Heroes will be collecting donations at Accor Stadium during the concert on Saturday 7 October. Legacy and Wounded Heroes will also activate channels for any direct donations in relation to the SUPPORT OUR VETERANS APPEAL. In addition to this, Kiss will make available 5,000 free concert tickets to be distributed to serving ADF personnel and veterans so they can attend and enjoy the day with their families and friends. Geoff Jones, Group CEO ā TEG said: āAs a former member of the ADF myself, and the son of a Vietnam veteran, the dedication and sacrifices of our serving men & women has always been important to me.Ā āEven after 50 years of performing to fans across the globe, it is admirable to see a legendary band like KISS devote their status and legacy to advocating for those that fought for our country. They are legends in every sense of the word, and I cannot wait to see them take the stage come October as they say farewell to their Australian fans.ā Andrew McManus, CEO – One World Entertainment said: āKISS have a long history of supporting causes that are close to their hearts, and this is still very much a part of who they are 50 years into their career. āAfter being made aware of the plight of our returned servicemen and women, and the need for awareness of the mental health and welfare of our defence force, manager of KISS Doc McGhee, along with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley did not hesitate in the establishment of their Support for the Veterans Appeal. āTo now add the support of our veterans to the passion and legacy of KISS, is an honour that I donāt take lightly. I am proud to be associated with KISS, Legacy, Wounded Heroes and the great men and women who protect our freedoms and way of life.ā Lieutenant General Greg Bilton AO, CSC, Chief of Joint Operations ā Australian Defence Force said: āAs a patron of Wounded Heroes and advocate for Legacy, I am extremely proud of the dedication these charities have to support the families of veterans who have lost their lives or been injured as a result of their service. āI would like to also thank KISS for launching the Support our Veterans Appeal to help raise funds for both of these charities and for extending the opportunity to current and ex-serving ADF members and their families to come and enjoy the bandās last concert in Australiaā KISSteria well and truly took over Australia in 1980 after their first-ever tour here, resulting in a deep & lasting connection between the band and their fans.Ā The sold-out Unmasked Tour saw them perform at some iconic football stadiums ā they were front page news, plus broke all kinds of records.Ā Four decades on, KISS has continued their love affair with Australia, whilst gaining new fans across multiple generations along the way. The sold-out End of the Road tour in August last year received blistering reviews and proved, yet again, why KISS is the most iconic live show in the world.
