As announced exclusively on Triple J on Monday, A Hitch To The Sticks is now running TWICE a year – yep, bigger, better, and badder than ever this October. Can you handle #Hitch2?!
Equal parts Rock Star and Almost Famous, A Hitch To The Sticks Festival offers 50 bold adventurers a wild three-day, all-inclusive adventure like nothing you’ve ever experienced – it’s the chance to write yourself into the pages of Australian music history and have stories to tell for a lifetime.
The 50 lucky Hitchers will inhabit a world usually accessible only to rock stars and their friends – there’ll be celebrity hitchhikers, secret gigs, campfire jams, bus singalongs, legendary escapades, Ned Kelly hideouts, discovery of Aboriginal artefacts, and one hell of a lineup.
Australian rock legend and bus host, Dallas Frasca, will take you on the ride of a lifetime across North East Victoria from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th October.
The clever punters who got on the first SOLD OUT bus ride of the year in March know that something pretty special went down over those three days, and the additional 4,600 souls who rolled up to the public music events didn’t want to wait until next year for more mayhem & madness!
50 VIP bus tickets have gone on sale today but the limited early bird discounts will go faster than cocaine at a Charlie Sheen party, so get on it while you can. A seriously epic lineup has been assembled by Team Hitch – all will be revealed all July 26th!
The Hitch tour bus shenanigans will begin in Melbourne on the Friday before making stops at destinations throughout North East Victoria. Towns including Seymour, Moorngag, Lima East, Winton, Glenrowan, Wangaratta, North Wang and Moyhu will witness the Hitch madness before we scream back in the big smoke on Sunday evening, exhausted but ecstatic.
10 events across three days, with six secret gigs for the bus ticket holders only, and four mega public shows, one of which will be the biggest event Wangaratta has ever hosted! Yes, we’re serious!
,For those who can’t make it on the bus, there are heaps of opportunities to follow the action and mingle with the awesome bus folk at four public events throughout the weekend.
Friday night will be a stellar lineup of homegrown regional talent performing memorable sets in an iconic bush hall setting.
On Saturday evening, AHTTS will set Wangaratta alight, unveiling a killer event bigger than anything the town has hosted before, with three huge rock acts everyone knows and loves.
Recover from the overload of awesomeness on Sunday morning at our traditional rock ‘n’ roll breakfast at the Malt Shed from 9am, then strap yourself back in for a massive Sunday afternoon at the Moyhu Hotel’s now famous beer garden, where a dead-set certified member of Australian Music Royalty will take to the custom-built stage and blow the crowd away with her powerhouse performance. You don’t want to miss this!
These family friendly public events offer a kaleidoscope of flavour, music, activity and culture across the weekend.
AHTTS was (fittingly) born over a beer and a casual convo almost 18 months ago, when Dallas told her crazy idea to good buddy Renee Delahunty. Like any excellent partner in crime, Renee simply said, “Let’s do this!”, and that they did!
Dallas says, “We totally crushed the pilot in March, with over 4,600 fans in attendance over the weekend!! The VIP bus experience was unreal, not one punter knew what was coming next; one minute celebrity hitchhikers were hijacking the bus then Whitfield Crane (Ugly Kid Joe) was serenading peeps acoustically round a campfire. The smoking ceremony was something I don’t think anyone will forget anytime soon.. We pretty much came together as strangers and left friends for life”.
While we’d love to tell you everything that will happen on the Hitch bus, we can’t, because true to the tradition of the road – what happens on tour, stays on tour. :)

With the full lineup dropping July 26th, Hitch To The Sticks team are stoked to reveal the first couple of performers; hailing from Albury; ten piece indie folk legends The Northern Folk will lift you high into the stratosphere and a very first public solo performance by our very own Dallas Frasca (bus tickets only).
