Scene News: Creative Director Andie Meredith features local artisans in upcoming ‘COLLABORAZIONE’ Exhibition

Seasoned Creative Director Andie Meredith is pleased to announce Collaborazione, launching in Melbourne on Thursday 27th of April 2017.

Collaborazione (translation: collaboration) draws on Andie’s time spent wandering the cobblestone laneways of Firenze, Italia. “During my visit to Firenze I experienced a vast array of local artisans who offered unique, thoughtful designs. The studios that I visited were tucked away, down little cobblestone laneways – disparate form the global ‘luxury’ brand names” says Andie.

“Since living in Melbourne I’ve wanted to recreate my ‘Firenze experience’ by way of collaborating with a handful of local artisans whose work I particularly connect with. Each of these designers and artisans push boundaries within their design discipline, create the unexpected and deliver to a niche market” says Andie.

Collaborazione will feature local artisans across Australia including Andrew James, Anne Leon, Betty Bossy Boots and more. Works will span over fine arts in ceramics and textile, shoe design, accessories, illustration, music and jewellery.

Designers have all integrated Andie Meredith’s surface designs to their exhibition works, creating a carefully curated harmony amongst all the art pieces. Designer’s products will be available to purchase on site at the exhibition venue, as well as directly through Andie Meredith. Andie hopes “to attract a combination of her existing audience, as well as a brand new, unexpected array of art lovers”.

Collaborazione will take place over a two week period at 5 Rankins Lane, Melbourne CBD, starting on Thursday 27th of April 2017.
