The Corner Hotel is turning 21 this year and if you thought that the month-long celebrations couldn’t get any bigger, think again. Not only will the likes of The Vasco Era, Cosmic Psychos, Kylie Auldist + Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, Clare Bowditch + Adalita, Horrorshow and Archie Roach be jumping on stage for six massive birthday shows, but now a whole host of local rising stars will be taking over the rooftop bar for our Corner 21st Birthday Rooftop series!

KYLIE AULDIST – TUES 14 NOV
Her voice is unmistakably synonymous with some of the country’s finest soul
and funk outfits including The Bamboos and Cookin’ On three Burners and now
the critically acclaimed Kylie Auldist will be setting the stage alight
solo this November. Self-described as the love-child of Chaka Khan and Rick
James in music form, Kylie will be joined on the night by afro-beat giants
The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra.
CLARE BOWDITCH + ADALITA – SUN 19 NOV (MATINEE)
Both massive names in the Australian alt-music scene, songwriting
luminaries and good friends Clare Bowditch and Adalita are teaming up once
again for a special one-off Sunday arvo party. Having toured with the likes
of Gotye and Leonard Cohen, the ARIA Award winning artist has an army of
top ten albums under her belt. Adalita is best known as front woman for
indie rock group Magic Dirt and continues to reign as a mainstay of the
Australian music scene.
HORRORSHOW – WED 22 NOV
Coming off the back of an extraordinary tour playing to more than 10,000
people across Australia, local hip-hop crew and national treasures
Horrorshow will be recreating their much-loved songs in an acoustic
setting, illuminating the lyrics and arrangements in a welcoming, intimate
live space. They’ll also be celebrating the release of their much loved
recent single ‘Cherry Blossom.’
ARCHIE ROACH – TUES 5 DEC
Indigenous music icon Archie Roach has been performing and inspiring people
with his incredible songwriting for almost three decades, with this year
marking 20 years since the release of his third album ‘Looking for
Butterboy.’ He’ll be re-releasing the album and raising funds for his
recently launched Archie Roach Foundation at this show which is shaping up
to be a truly memorable and unique experience.
*21 DAYS OF GIGSMAS*
To celebrate the Corner Hotel’s 21st birthday celebrations the venue has
announced a 21 day long competition series that’ll see punters go in the
running to win a host of great prizes including gig tickets, dinner packs,
drinks and more! There’s 21 great prizes up for grabs, building up to an
enormous major giveaway at the end of the countdown.
