CherryRock016 Tenth Birthday in AC/DC Lane

Cherry is proud to announce that it will be hosting its Tenth Birthday edition of Australia’s only dedicated rock n roll street festival CHERRYROCK016 on Sunday 1 May 2016 in AC/DC Lane and at Cherry Bar.

We are excited to announce our first headliner for this massive event, RICHIE RAMONE, legendary drummer for The Ramones, appearing exclusively in Victoria at Cherry! In our tenth year CherryRock016 will be running with the ‘Too Tough To Die’ theme, the classic Ramones’ album.

As a Ramone, Richie received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.The late Joey Ramone said of the fastest and most powerful drummer who ever played with the legendary NYC punk rockers, Richie saved the band as far as I’m concerned. He’s the greatest thing to happen to the Ramones.”

In addition to writing songs on ‘Animal Boy’, ‘Too Tough To Die and ‘Halfway To Sanity’ albums, Richie was the sole composer of ‘Somebody Put Something in My Drink’ and also sang lead vocals on ‘(You) Can’t Say Anything Nice’ and will be playing drums and singing Ramones’ favourites from the AC/DC Lane Main Stage at CherryRock016.

Cherry Owner and Booker James Young adds, “Ten years is a Hell of an achievement. Like Richie Ramone, Cherry is ‘too tough to die’. And I can’t wait to see AC/DC Lane jam-packed in a denim group-hug, all singing ‘Somebody Put Something In My Drink’ with Richie Ramone of the Ramones!
