Saturday 23rd March, 8pmCelebrating the release of the single “On Your Corner” Skyscraper Stan is bringing his band the Commission Flats to The Eastern as part of his East Coast Tour. Touted as a “beacon of the Australian songwriting scene” “Skyscraper” Stan Woodhouse has been entertaining crowds around the country since the release of his debut album in 2015.

On Your Corner is the latest single from “Golden Boy”, Skyscraper Stan’s second studio album due for release in May 2019. As the songwriter himself says when introducing this track at live shows “This is a song about the unequal distribution of emotional labour in romantic relationships”. Written in a Darwin hotel room halfway through a gruelling solo tour and recorded at Woodstock studios in Melbourne it is typical of Stan’s lyrical work – rich in imagery, honest, heart wrenching and at times a little tongue in cheek.Get Tickets

Dave Leslie Band
Sunday 24thMarch, 8pmSUNDAY 24TH MARCH
Dave Leslie Band live on the Cherr Bar stage!
Dave Leslie started playing guitar in 1973. He is best known for his work with Baby Animals – a role that he has held for almost thirty years. He has also worked with many other Australian music heavy hitters including Jimmy Barnes, Richard Clapton and The Angels.
His guitar playing style has been described as the power and emotion of the British blues players from the ‘60s, blended with the textures and voicings of the ‘80s, and the attitude and aggression of late ‘70s punk, all tied up in a package which is still uniquely Australian.
Dave has recently formed his own group – The Dave Leslie Band – featuring Laura Davidson (vocals), Alex Deegan (drums) and Kim May (bass).
The selection of material that they cover includes songs that have inspired Dave’s musical journey. These range from early Jeff Beck to Jimi Hendrix, Kevin Borich and even some obscure Baby Animals tunes.
The Dave Leslie Band delivers a high-energy performance for not only lovers of guitar driven blues-rock, but all live music fans.Get TicketsUpcoming eventsWith 6 nights a week of live music entertainment, there’s a ton of amazing music talent you won’t want to miss each week at Cherry.
