After five incredible sell-out shows late last year, back by popular demand the always amazing Brian Nankervis and members of the RocKwiz Orkestra return to Ding Dong for two very special shows on Sunday March 1st and 15th.
Brian, along with Peter Luscombe and Mark Ferrie from the RocKwiz Orkestra,will take you back to New Orleans every with performances of Dr. John’s iconic 1968 rhythm and blues and psychedelic debut album Gris-Gris in its entirety. Brian, Peter and Mark have invited special guests … Ross Hannaford, Ray Pereira, Bruce Haymes, Garry Gray and Vika and Linda Bull … for what will be an unforgettable dinner and shows. The first set of the evening will be Dr. John’s Gris-Gris album, then we’re opening the dance floor for a set of New Orleans rocking dance classics … from Eddie Bo to Betty Harris, the Meters, Lee Dorsey, Irma Thomas and more.
Head chef and New Orleans native Chris Weysham will be cooking up a storm in Girl With The Gris Gris Kitchen, serving up Cajun and Creole favourites over three incredible courses, while Brian Nankervis and members of the RocKwiz Orkestra take you on a musical journey through the rich history of the New Orleans music scene.
Arrive early, to be greeted by Brian as host, for cocktail hour including a cheeky complimentary New Orleans ‘Hurricane’ and sit back and enjoy New Orleans French Quarter vibes.
