TASTE
PLAYING LIVE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER 12 MONTHS AT
THE OAKLEIGH CARNEGIE RSL – LIVE MUSIC VENUE
FOR ONE PERFORMANCE ONLY
SATURDAY AUGUST 7
TASTE the original Australian glam-rockers still have a loyal legion of fans dating back to their venue-packing beginnings in the 1970s when they released two ground breaking albums “Tickle Your Fancy’ and ‘Knights Of Love, and 4 singles which all made it into the national top twenty.
On August 7th they will once again regroup to perform at The Oakleigh Carnegie RSL to celebrate the release of their new 4 album box set.
Over the decades they have come back together several times to record additional albums and perform at many sell-out concerts.
Band members Ken Murdoch, Joey Amenta, Michael Tortoni and Virgil Donati were all teenagers when they first got together in 1976 to record their first album and have the distinction of being the first band to appear on the legendary music show Countdown.
From 1975 to 1978 they played across Australia to full houses including 13,000 punters on the banks of the Yarra. As well as headlining their own concerts they also toured with Sweet, Status Quo, Suzi Quatro, ACDC, Sherbert, Skyhooks, Hush and Ted Mulry Gang before parting ways in 1979 to pursue diverse solo and business careers.
In the late 90’s they reformed for a one-off concert at Calder Park with the now world-renowned drummer Virgil Donati who flew in from America, where he was living and performing especially for the concert.
In 2007 they recorded the ‘Rock Is Dead’ album with new drummer Joel Witenberg for another sell-out tour. The album featured ‘Hello Can You Hear Me’ and a song written about Ken Murcoch’s late brother called ‘Breathe’ which went onto become the Cancer Council theme.
In 2015 they came together again and started work on a new album ‘Life On Earth’ with drummer Damian Corniola and released the single ‘I Am God’ which received rave reviews.
Recently Ken Murdoch, Joey Amenta, Michael Tortoni have released ‘BROTHERS’ Volume 1 & 2 . Featuring (We all) ‘Stand Up’ which received airplay on over 135 radio stations across the country and their ode to the pandemic year ‘2020’s Gone’ was taken up by Beyond Blue. Reaching no 6 on the hit charts in Madrid!
They have recently completed a special release compilation of past albums called ‘Rock Is God’ for release for Europe, a collector’s edition box set comprising all their albums, a live DVD and a book detailing their varied careers which are all due for release later this year.
Don’t miss this one night only special performance when TASTE with Ken, Joey, Michael and guest drummer Anthony Ziros, once again tickles everybody’s fancy at the Oakleigh Carnegie RSL on August 7
