Saturday 17th June sees two of Australia’s great singer songwriters playing on the same stage. CharlieMarshall and Ross McLennan performing in extended band format with a host of Melbourne’s most talented musicians sounds like a perfect night out. Coming together for a night of wonderful music to launch the new CharlieMarshall album Sublime, The Spotted Mallard on Sat 17th June is the place to be.
Melbourne singer, songwriter and science teacher Charlie Marshall has produced a fascinating new album Sublime which is a unique fusion of music, science, philosophy and politics extolling the wonders of our universe. Formerly of much-loved Melbourne bands Harem Scarem and The Body Electric, Charlie is joined by new line-up The Curious Minds featuring Clare Moore (Dave Graney ‘n the Coral Snakes), Bryan Colechin (The Body Electric, Hugo Race True Spirit), Tim Deane (Ron Peno & the Superstitions), Andrew Watson (Slow Dissolve) and Brett Polliness (Hugo Race True Spirit).
Accompanying the band for this very special show will be will be a host of other great musicians who feature on the album – brass section comprising Jack Howard (Hunters and Collectors) and James Macauley, Ghanian percussionist Kofi Kunkpe, and backing vocalists Emily Hayes and Flip Case.
Support is from another great Melbourne songwriter and kindred spirit Ross McLennan and The New World. Formerly of Snout, Ross plays his first show in two years and will also perform with an extended 10 piece band lineup for this unmissable night.
