“These recordings were never really planned as commercial releases and their existence after so long is partly sheer luck and also a reflection of the excellence of independent broadcasters like Melbourne’s 3RRR in preserving our musical culture.

As a live band, we made a huge impact on the Melbourne inner city scene, headlining our first shows and selling them out immediately. All of us, even the extremely young Kate, had been experienced players. Essendon Airport, the band we seemed to grow out of, was an arty, well connected and infamous concern. Herbie Hancock is the master of modern jazz – he is innovative, influential, a living legend and will close the 2019 Melbourne International Jazz Festival at Arts Centre Melbourne, Hamer Hall.

In the worst kept secret in Melbourne, I’m Talking played a secret show at Memo Music Hall on Monday 10th February.

On 16 October 2018, the members of I’m Talking announced that they will return to the stage in 2019 as the supporting act for Bryan Ferry’s Australian tour, which will take place between February and April.

The reformed lineup consists of five of the seven original members: Goodge, Hogarth, Charlesworth, Ceberano, and Abeyratne. Ian Cox and Cameron Newman will not return due to personal commitments and will had replacements to take Cox’s saxophone spot and Newman’s drumming duties. They also have not ruled out about whether they’ll record or perform any new material beyond that.

Thanks to Canon Australia, Wendy will be presenting a retrospective exhibition of her life’s work in Sydney and Melbourne which will include photographic images of INXS, Crowded House, Paul Kelly and The Church along with many other images chosen from her extensive portfolio.
